Jeff was the Founder and Chairman of Tonko Development Corp. A publicly traded real estate company, it owned and managed assets in excess of $750 million with 7.5 million square feet of industrial, office, and retail properties before selling in 2002 to an institutional purchaser.​

From 2003 to 2006, Jeff was CEO of TGS North American Real Estate Investment Trust where he was instrumental in growing the portfolio to 4.4 million square feet in western Canada and the United States, bringing his investors a return of over 20% in 2.5 years and selling it in aggregate for over $600 million.​
